The school teaches traditional Tae Kwon Do mixed with Hapkido techniques for optimum self-defense instruction. The classes are instructed by active Ohio law enforcement officers and Defense Tactics instructors.

Learning martial arts can benefit anyone and everyone. Yet it is particularly beneficial for children, especially those that are working through their own difficult issues.

Tae Kwon Do training at the Championship Martial Arts Academy in Ohio is for adults and children 5 and older. We also offer a program for 3 to 5-year olds called “Little Dragons” to introduce them to martial arts.

Tae Kwon Do training consists of hardening the body through practice of various attacks and forms. Through this training you will build self-esteem, respect, discipline, mental focus, core strength, flexibility, balance and overall athleticism.

Tae Kwon Do is a Korean Martial art that translates to the “way of the hand and the foot“. The five tenets are Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control, and Indomitable Spirit.

Tae Kwon Do emphasizes kicks from mobile stances. It incorporates this with strikes, blocks, and take-downs. The legs are emphasized because they are longer and stronger than your arms. This makes for more power in the strike, as well as a decreased chance of a retaliatory strike.

Physical training develops flexibility, speed, balance, strength, and endurance. Learning the techniques and forms helps build mental discipline. When the physical and mental disciplines are joined, amazing feats such as the breaking of boards and blocks can be achieved.
